We value our members and pride ourselves on being a community focused film club for the people of Exminster. Here is some of the feedback we have received from our first year of films.
Definite community feel. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly.

Great to share a drink and nibbles with friends while catching up on good films.
Nice to sometimes rewatch old favourites but other times catch up on films missed.
Good value for money especially as I can walk there.
It’s really useful being able to watch films (some of which you might not normally go to the cinema to see) which are within walking distance to home.
Also, being held in the village hall makes it a nice social evening.

Having recently arrived in Exminster in April last year, I was looking at the events held locally, to start assimilating into the activities held locally. When the film club was intimated, I was keen to join as I was about to renew my membership at a cinema in Exeter, but thought a local venture was worth supporting, and in the winter months, I would be more likely to go to the screenings.
I was also attracted by the idea that the members could choose the films, a chance to see films I missed when they were first shown in the cinemas.
The cost is very compatible with local cinemas, and, for me, the Victory Hall is a better venue than some of the cinemas.
Having joined a few other activities in Exminster, the Film Club is another opportunity to meet some of my new friends, as well as those members I don’t see at other events.
The meetings are welcoming, well run and the opportunity to bring along some refreshments also a nice gesture.
I am looking forward to when the club resumes.

We joined the Film Club with a little bit of trepidation as to whether it would give us the all round experience of enjoying a film at a cinema.
We were not disappointed. The film choices have been excellent and varied, offering a wide range of genres. We have watched productions that we may not necessarily have picked for ourselves but thoroughly enjoyed.
The Community feel of the audience makes you think you are watching a film with your extended family!! It is a well organised evening, with no problems with line of site and hearing. The bonus is we don’t have to go far to have a very enjoyable night out, we look forward to the next season.

We have really enjoyed being able to access a good variety films locally This is yet another way to bring the village community together and make use of our local facilities.
